Milford Kids Thrive Family Resource page is designed to help you find community resources and programs that will help you support your child’s healthy development, as well as make parenting easier.

Whether you’re looking for more details on a specific program, contact information for a service provider, or updates on available parenting classes, we have developed this central resource list for your easy reference.

  • Parenting questions but not sure where to go? Looking for a specific program or support in a certain area but unsure who to call? Call Waypoint Family Resource Center’s Warm Line: 800-640-6486. All questions are welcome!  The support line is live Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, or leave a message after hours and someone will get back to you.

Parenting Support and Classes

  • Home visiting from Waypoint Family Resource Center is a free service for Milford families.
  • Baby and Me Support Group for Milford area parents of newborns (birth up to 1 year). Join other parents/caregivers for this virtual series: discuss newborn and infant care, get advice on infant sleep, feeding, milestones and connect with other parents. Click here for more details. This series is offered both virtually and in person. Keep an eye on the Milford Kids Thrive calendar for dates and details.
  • Kinship Navigator Program is designed to help family caregivers including grandparents, uncles, aunts, and other “kin” navigate the current parenting landscape and connect with supports to make caregiving easier.
  • Family-friendly storytimes are hosted regularly by Milford’s Wadleigh Memorial Library; be sure to visit the Milford Kids Thrive calendar which includes updates on library events.
  • Milford Recreation hosts a wide array of classes and fun events for all ages, including young children and parents. The latest Milford Recreation kids classes and events are included in the Milford Kids Thrive calendar.
  • Sports, movement and fun clinics are provided by Milford Community Athletic Association (MCAA).

Parenting resources

Family Support Groups

  • Friends Of Aine provides bereavement support services and resources to children and families who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
  • Searching for support for families and children with an incarcerated loved one? The Family Connections Center offers free family supports and services.  Waypoint also offers virtual support groups several times a month for children of incarcerated parents (ages 3-18) and their caregivers.
  • There are family support groups provided by NH Family Voices with a focus on: Autism, Behavioral Health, and Developmental Disabilities
  • Partners in Health provides free support for children with chronic health conditions and their families.

Child Development

  • Questions about your child’s development? Visit the Milford Kids Thrive Child Development web page and developmental screening web page.
  • Looking for additional support for a child who has been diagnosed with developmental delays or a disability? NH Family Voices is staffed by parents of children and young adults with experience.

Recovery and SUD Supports

  • The CAST Coalition of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley offers a free monthly Children’s Resiliency Retreat for children (ages 6 & up) who have been impacted by a loved one’s substance misuse.
