In this virtual presentation you will get practical advice and inspiration on growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers organically. Topics include composting and mulching to promote healthy soil, using space efficiently, growing plants from seed, succession planting, inviting beneficial wildlife, controlling weeds and pests naturally, and preserving homegrown produce. Questions and comments are welcome during the presentation, and handouts with recommended books and websites will be made available to participants, as well.

About your presenter: John Root is a Naturalist and Musician. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and concentrated on Botany in his graduate studies. John uses his experience as a certified organic landscaping professional and as a science teacher to inform his talks on a variety gardening and nature topics. He is also the organizer of the Western Mass Pollinator Network.
