Play is all about having fun! But did you know play is more than just a fun activity for your child? During playtime children develop important life skills like problem solving, risk taking, social skills and creativity. Giving your child time to play is important for their development at every age. Try to work playtime into your daily routine and don’t forget to take a few minutes to join in on the fun!
Here is a great article from Pathways.org that describes the 6 stages of play during early childhood, all of which play an important role in your child’s development. It is important to remember these stages are merely guidelines of development. Each child develops at their own unique pace. If you have concerns about your child’s development please bring them up to your healthcare provider.
