Milford Kids Thrive NH presented by Milford Thrives

Thank You, Milford – The Spirit of Thriving Lives On

For the past five years, Milford Thrives has served as a convener and facilitator for our Milford-area community focused on fostering collective impact to build a community where:

  • Young children grow up in a nurturing, supportive environment;
  • Families and community members feel connected; and
  • Citizens are aware of how to protect our local resources.

We are proud of the collaborative work we have done to build a connected, welcoming and resilient Milford community. Over the summer of 2025, we have transitioned leadership of key initiatives – including Welcome Baby and the Milford Kids Thrive Collaborative — to partner organizations. The good news is that these initiatives will continue uninterrupted! Please see below for updated links and contact information.

Welcome Baby

Welcome Baby celebrates and welcomes newborns to our Milford community with a gift bag for families and little ones. Gifts include homemade blankets, hats and a board book as well as printed child development and parenting resources.

The Family Resource Center at the Boys and Girls Club of Souhegan Valley (the Club), with the support of Milford Rotary Club, now leads the Welcome Baby program. Families may continue to pick up their Welcome Baby gift at Milford Town Hall, or they may stop by the Club Family Resource Center. The Family Resource Center, located at the Club, 56 Mont Vernon Street in Milford, also hosts the Welcome Baby Diaper Bank. Visit the Family Resource Center to pick up a free sleeve of diapers and to find out what’s happening around town. The Club is here to support, connect and empower youth and parents.

Milford Kids Thrive Collaborative

Now in its sixth year, the Milford Kids Thrive Collaborative (MKT), a cross-sector early childhood coalition of community partners and Milford-area caregivers, works together to build a nurturing community where parents and caregivers feel supported, and all young children are provided with strong early childhood foundations so they can be ready for school and thrive. To attend a monthly Zoom meeting or learn more, contact the collaborative’s Facilitator, Heather Hoefs, Assistant Principal Jacques Memorial School:  heather.hoefs@milfordk12.org

Although Milford Thrives’ work as a non-profit entity has wrapped up, our collective impact work to support young children and families continues. Milford Thrives Impact Report for fiscal year 2025 can be found here.
